It was a cold, windy day on a Wednesday in Scottsbluff; not ideal conditions to have a ball game. The Plainsmen were optimistic going into the game after sweeping Williston and Otero in two home series. The game was set to be a one-nine inning game that would count as a Region IX Conference game. These teams had yet to see each other this year after a change in weather postponed their games in Sterling, so neither team knew what each other had.
The Plainsmen would have a good start to the game with Easton Adler hitting a line drive to the gap. Others would try to get him around to score, but none were successful. The Plainsmen would be able to score shortly after in the game, but could only get one run in. Throughout the rest of the game, Northeastern would be able to get men on in scoring position, but could never seem to get the hits they needed to drive them in. Later in the game, the Plainsmen would be able to tack one more run on the board, but it was not enough to trump the Cougars as they would fall 3-2.
The Plainsmen look to bounce back as they travel to Trinidad to play conference opponents TSJC Trojans before heading to Arizona for their spring trip.
