Nov. 5, 2018, Sterling, Colo. – In their second game of the weekend, the Plainsmen basketball team hosted the Colorado Northwestern Spartans at the Bank of Colorado Event Center. The men recently came off a fresh win two days prior and were looking to make their record 2-0.
The game began with the Plainsmen scoring quick and often to give them the 21-7 lead. Right after however, they went on a scoring drought and allowed the Spartans to regain some ground to make it 21-14. From there, the Plainsmen extended their lead once again, and at halftime led the Spartans 44-23.
The second half was much like the first as the Plainsmen dominated the Spartans. Both teams exchanged points throughout the second half until the final buzzer sounded, and the Plainsmen were victorious 94-65. This win takes Northeastern's record to 2-0 on the season, and they look to add another on Tuesday, Nov. 6 as they host the Laramie County Eagles.
