Sept. 3, 2019, Sterling, Colo. — in their first tournament of the year, the Northeastern golf teams traveled to Riverton, Wyo. to play in the Central Wyoming Tournament. Both teams have put in time at the course to perfect their swings in preparation for this tournament.
On the men's side, Sam Ostravich led the Plainsmen by shooting a 164 and placed 13th. Ty Murray finished 19th with a 174, Nick DiNapoli shot 175 to place 20th, Kenny Decker a 179 for 24th,and Aaron Fay finished 29th with a 190. Northeastern finished in fourth place as a team with a combined score of 692.
The Plainswomen had a great first showing as well when they finished second as a team shooting a combined 830. Tiara Ginther led the team with a 199 placing in sixth. Bailie Duncan finished in eighth with a 205, Coley Smith and Angela Cristelli each shot a 216 placing them in ninth, and Payton Wallace shot a 226 placing her in 11th.
Northeastern's next tournament will take place on Sept. 5-6 in Torrington, Wyo. for the Eastern Wyoming tournament.
