Scholz Inks With Northeastern Soccer

Carlos Scholz is the third soccer athlete of 2018 to sign on to continue his athletic and academic career as a Plainsman. Scholz has signed a Letter of Intent with the Plainsmen after spending last season with the River FC. After a successful season, his club team ascended to the First Division of the Peruvian Soccer Federation where they are currently competing in the Copa Federation (Federation Cup) U18 Championship of the Peruvian Soccer Federation. While on that team, Scholz has helped his team reach fifth place at the First Division District Championship (San Luis District) at the 2017 Peru Cup of the Peruvian Soccer Federation, where he has scored three goals in five games.

Northeastern's head coach David Groves commented, "Carlos is a creative player who is a much needed addition to our attacking corps. He is a player who can score goals, get himself out of extremely tight spaces, and has the ability to create special moments. We see him as a player that can make an impact for us straight away and quickly make the adaption to the US collegiate game. We believe Carlos has the mentality, attitude, and talent to make an immediate contribution within our group."
