Softball Goes On Signing Spree

The Plainswomen softball team has signed nine new student-athletes for the upcoming season.  The coaching staff has been finding talented players to increase depth in all positions.  The coaches are excited to see how all of the new girls mesh together in order to compete for the Region IX title.

Gracie Cordova (INF) from Pomona H.S. Arvada, CO
Cordova was a Colorado 5A All State Honorable Mention selection. Gracie brings a big bat to the Plainswomen. She batted .532 with 8 HR's, 40 RBI's and 10 doubles. Her game changing abilities will be huge in the lineup.

Abby Mussman (INF, Catcher) from Brush H.S. Fort Morgan, CO
Abby was a Colorado 3A All State 1st Team Selection. Mussman's versatility behind the plate and at 2B will be key to the Plainswomen success. She batted .420 her senior year and was a huge part in Brush's successful season. Abby is a winner and her ability to make plays and get on base will be key for the Plainswomen in the 2018 season.

Lindsay Niederkorn (RHP, SS) from Platte Valley H.S. Kersey, CO
The RHP comes to NJC with an impressive 2.93 E.R.A out of high school! Niederkorn was a Colorado 3A All State 2nd Team selection! Her senior year she batted .508 with 30 R.B.I.'s. Her ability to keep hitters off balance and talent at the plate will make her a great addition to the Plainswomen.

Annika Hildebrand (Catcher, INF) Canon City H.S. Canon City, CO
Hildebrand was a Colorado 4A All State 2nd Team Selection. She batted .625 with 30 RBI's and .687 OBP. Annika's ability to get on base will be vital in NJC's success next fall. Plainswomen look forward to her continuing her success behind the plate and in the batter box

MaKaila Chadwick (RHP, 1B) from Pomona H.S. Arvada, CO
Starting pitcher for two years at Pomona H.S. Makaila had a great senior year with a solid E.R.A of 3.94 in the circle. She also brings in a solid .414 batting average for the Plainswomen. Makaila's work athletic will be key for the Plainswomen success in the next two years.

Natalie Searle (Catcher) from Falcon H.S. Peyton, CO
Searle is a wall behind the plate and comes in with 3 years of varsity of experience. She had a great senior year batting .411 along with 13 doubles. Natalie is a great two way player and will be a great addition in the catcher department!

Tierney Norris (INF) from Falcon H.S. Peyton, CO
Tierney was a Colorado 4A All State Honorable Mention nominee her senior year. She hit .400 to go along with 5 triples. Norris is also very solid in the infield, with a lot of range and great arm. Her ability to play in the middle infield and strong bat will be great to have in the lineup.

Erin Hersey (RHP, 2B) from Monarch H.S. Louisville, CO
Hersey will look to join the pitching staff for 2018. Her ability to show demand and keep hitters guessing will be key to her success. Erin is a leader in the circle and will be a great addition for the Plainswomen.

Jasmine Elliott (OF) from Stanley Lake H.S. Westminster, CO
Elliott's speed and quickness will be a great addition to the outfield. Her ability to steal bases and make plays in the outfield will be huge for NJC. Jasmine is not only solid in the field but also amazing in the classroom with a 4.0 G.P.A.
