Feb. 6, 2019, Sterling, Colo. — The Plainswomen basketball team traveled to North Platte, Neb. to play in a non-divisional Region IX game against the Knights. The ladies have played well lately and wanted to keep things rolling against North Platte. Although it was a non-divisional game, winning over the Knights could give them a running start into McCook.
The first quarter was when Northeastern created their lead by outscoring the Knights 27-14. Jumping out to a 13-point lead made it easier for the Plainswomen to relax and play. The second quarter allowed Northeastern to extend their lead to 24-points over the Knights. The halftime score was 48-24 with the Plainswomen on top. The second half was much like the first as Northeastern continued to play with poise and strolled to an 85-62 victory.
Northeastern moves to 16-5 overall and heads into McCook to play the Indians on Friday, Feb. 8.
