On day two of the Pizza Hut Invitational, the Plainswomen were hoping to get both wins on the day, but the Monsters had other plans.
In the first match against Hesston College, the Plainswomen knew they had to start the day off right, and in the first set they were able to do so by winning 25-19. The second set, they were able to dominate them once again with a score of 25-14. In the third, Hesston showed some fight by winning 25-22. But Northeastern took a gut check and came back to win the fourth 27-25. With that win behind them, the ladies had to prepare for a tough Eastern Arizona Monster team.
The Plainswomen knew they needed to get a lead and hold it if they wanted to win, and in the first set, they were able to win 25-22. They knew that the Monsters were able to battle and take one away from them if they were not going to come out and compete. In the second set, a small lapse allowed the Monsters to win it 26-24. The Plainswomen have been used to battling in this Pizza Hut Invitational, so they knew how to come back in the next set. The third set was again another tough game and Northeastern came up short right at the end losing 28-26. It was too little too late and five games in three days took its toll as the Plainswomen fell short in the final set 25-21.
