- Head Men's Basketball Coach
Bio
Kameron Pearce enters his first season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Northeastern Junior College after building a reputation as a relationship-driven coach, recruiter, and player developer with both coaching and playing experience in Region IX.
Pearce comes to Northeastern after serving as an assistant coach at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas, where he helped lead the Rattlers back to the NCAA Division II National Tournament for the first time in a decade. During his time at St. Mary's, he played a key role in recruiting, player development, scouting, game preparation, and academic support while helping student-athletes succeed both on and off the court.
Before St. Mary's, Pearce was an assistant coach at Western Wyoming College, where he helped build a program that went 102-44 during his time on staff. His experience at the NJCAA level has provided him with a deep understanding of recruiting, roster management, and developing players for successful transfers to four-year institutions.
A former NJC student-athlete, Pearce has firsthand knowledge of the opportunities and challenges facing today's student-athletes. Pearce was born and raised in Jerome, Idaho, and started his collegiate career playing for Eddie Trenkle in 2010-2011 and 2012-2013. After his two seasons at NJC, Pearce moved on to St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Exercise & Sport Science and a Master’s in Communications.
Known for his ability to build genuine relationships with players, coaches, and recruits, Pearce is committed to developing high-character young men who excel academically, compete at a championship level, and are prepared for success long after their playing careers.
Returning as Head Coach of the Plainsmen, Pearce is excited to continue a championship culture that reflects the proud tradition of Northeastern Junior College basketball and the Sterling community.
