Northeastern Baseball Falls in Final Game of Four Game Series To Salt Lake Community College 17-0
Northeastern had trouble keeping up with Salt Lake in a 17-0 loss on Sunday.
Salt Lake jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Lute Chavez doubled, scoring one run, and Kaden Hodson singled, scoring two runs.
The Bruins added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Gage Wareham singled to center field, Hodson hit a sacrifice fly, and Kade Gambill singled to left field, each scoring one run.
Salt Lake added two runs in the third after Greyson Martin doubled down the left field line.
The Bruins scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to left field by Gambill.
Salt Lake scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Tyler Davis singled, scoring one run, and Alex Vernon hit a grand slam to left field.
Keon Bandy stepped on the hill first for Northeastern. The pitcher surrendered five hits and six runs (five earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking four. Zaylun Fenn started on the hill for Salt Lake CC Bruins. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one.
DDC Player of the Game, Tanner Peerey led Northeastern with one hit in two at bats.
