Northeastern Baseball Faces Set Back Against Defending National Champion Salt Lake Community College, Falling In Game 1 of the Four Game Series 7-1

Salt Lake scored four runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Northeastern 7-1 on Saturday.

The Bruins got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Drew Smith doubled to left field, and Northeastern committed an error, each scoring two runs.

Salt Lake scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to center field by Smith.

Jan Raunigger stepped on the hill first for Northeastern. The hurler surrendered three hits and four runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking three. Case Beames started the game for Salt Lake. The starter surrendered one hit and one run over five innings, striking out three and walking one.

Brayden Stufft and DDC Player of the Game, Brendan Clelland each collected one hit for Northeastern. Nate Glad led the team with one run batted in.
