Northeastern Baseball Takes Down Southeast Community College 8-0 In Game One of A Four Game Home Series

The bottom of the lineup helped Northeastern capture an 8-0 victory over Southeast on Friday. Tavish Dey, Riley Suarez, and Michael Clark combined for six of the team's 10 hits in the victory. They scored six runs and drove in two.

Dey collected three hits in three at bats in the win. Dey doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Northeastern opened the scoring in the bottom of the third thanks to two singles. The Plainsmen first got on the board when Tanner Peerey singled, scoring one run.

Two more Northeastern runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 4-0. Suarez hit a solo home run to center field, and Dey doubled, scoring one run.

Northeastern scored one run in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home run to left field by George Greene.

DDc Player of the Game, Ondrej Vank earned the win for Northeastern. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one. Reed McConnell led things off on the hill for Southeast. The right-handed pitcher allowed eight hits and five runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one.

Northeastern accumulated 10 hits in the game. Eastin Hubbard led the Plainsmen with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-1 on the day. Clark collected two hits for Northeastern in three at bats.
