Northeastern Baseball Makes it Two Walk-Offs in a Row Against Southeast Community College, Winning Game Three 9-8

Northeastern took Saturday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 9-8 walk-off victory over Southeast. The game was tied at eight in the bottom of the seventh when DDC Player of the Game, Brendan Clelland singled, scoring one run.

Bats blistered as Northeastern collected 10 hits and the Bobcats tallied seven in the high-scoring game.

Southeast got on the board in the top of the first inning after Jack Hogan singled down the left field line, and the Bobcats scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run.

Northeastern tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a single by George Greene, and a triple by Riley Suarez.

The Plainsmen took the lead, 5-2, in the bottom of the second thanks to home runs by Tavish Dey, and Tanner Peerey.

The Bobcats took the lead in the top of the fifth. Burke Jasa homered to left field, scoring three runs, to give Southeast the lead, 7-5.

Northeastern tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a solo home run to right field by Nate Glad, and a single by Clelland.

The Bobcats took the lead in the top of the seventh. Jacob Perrin hit a solo home run to left field, to give Southeast the lead, 8-7.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Plaisnmen went back into the lead after Brayden Stufft doubled, and Clelland singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Jaiven Baca earned the win for Northeastern. The reliever surrendered one hit and one run over two and one-third innings, striking out three and walking none. Tony Slizowski opened the game for Northeastern. The righty allowed six hits and seven runs (three earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking two. Wade Spencer started on the bump for Southeast. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and five runs over three innings, striking out two and walking four.

Northeastern tallied 10 hits in the game. Glad, Peerey, and Clelland each collected two hits for Northeastern. Dey and Clelland each drove in two runs for the Plainsmen. Northeastern had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Suarez and Greene led the team with two free passes each. Northeastern ran wild on the base paths, tallying three stolen bases for the game. The Plainsmen turned one double play in the game.
