Northeastern Baseball Takes Down McCook Community College in Game 1 8-6
Northeastern defeated McCook 8-6 on Thursday.
The Plainsmen opened the scoring in the first after Tanner Peerey hit a solo home run to right field.
Tyler Reyburn hit a sacrifice fly, which helped McCook tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
A double by Brayden Stufft gave Northeastern the lead, 2-1, in the top of the second.
Kon Yoshimura singled to left field, which helped the Indians tie the game at two in the bottom of the second.
Northeastern took the lead in the top of the third inning after Zach McVay singled down the right field line, and Eastin Hubbard hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Owen Weales doubled to left field on the seventh pitch of the at-bat, which helped McCook tie the game at four in the bottom of the fourth.
Northeastern took the lead, 8-4, in the top of the fifth thanks to home runs by DDC Player of the Game, George Greene, and Aniel Del Orbe.

The pitcher allowed 12 hits and eight runs (seven earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking none.
