Northeastern Baseball Gets Back-to-Back Wins over Luna Community College, Winning Game Two 10-5

DDC Player of the Game, Hudson Hoy drove in five runs on three hits to lead Northeastern past Luna 10-5 on Thursday. Hoy doubled in the ninth inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the second inning, scoring one.

Northeastern got on the board in the top of the second inning after Zach McVay singled down the left field line, Hoy singled to center field, and Eastin Hubbard walked, each scoring one run.

Justin Dean earned the win for Northeastern. The righty surrendered five hits and one run (zero earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one. Jarren Villa began the game for Luna. The right-handed pitcher gave up seven hits and three runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking four. Logan Steckel pitched two innings of shutout ball for Northeastern in relief. The pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out three and walking none.

Northeastern collected 14 hits in the game. George Greene led the Plainsmen with four hits in five at bats. McVay collected two hits for Northeastern in four at bats. Northeastern turned one double play in the game.
