Northeastern Baseball Takes Game 3 Over Otero College 10-3

DDC Player of the Game, Zach McVay drove in four runs on three hits to lead Northeastern past Otero 10-3 on Sunday. McVay singled in the second scoring two, singled in the fifth scoring one, and singled in the seventh scoring one.

Northeastern won thanks in part to six runs in the fifth inning. Eastin Hubbard tripled, scoring one run, Jose Victorio singled, scoring one run, Aniel Del Orbe hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, McVay singled, scoring one run, Brendan Clelland singled, scoring one run, and Brayden Stufft singled, scoring one run.

The Plainsmen opened the scoring in the second after McVay singled, scoring two runs.

Tony Slizowski stepped on the hill first for Northeastern. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over four and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two. Wyatt Kelley stepped on the mound first for Otero. The starter gave up 13 hits and eight runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Jan Raunigger pitched two and two-thirds innings of no-run ball for Northeastern in relief. The pitcher gave up one hit, striking out two and walking none.

Northeastern tallied 14 hits in the game. Hubbard, Stufft, and Clelland each collected multiple hits for Northeastern. Northeastern didn't commit a single error in the field. Stufft had the most chances in the field with five.
