Northeastern Baseball Wins The Road Series Over Otero College 3-1, But Falls To The Rattlers 12-2 in Game 4
Northeastern had trouble keeping up with Otero in a 12-2 loss on Sunday.
Otero were the first to get on the board in the first when Keita Fujino singled, scoring one run.
A single by DDC Player of the Game, Riley Suarez gave Northeastern the lead, 2-1, in the top of the third.
Otero flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on six hits to take the lead, 6-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Antonio Zamora on an 0-2 count that drove in one.
Yan Santiago earned the win for Otero. The hurler surrendered six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. Keon Bandy took the loss for Northeastern. The pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs on nine hits, striking out six and walking none.
Suarez drove the middle of the lineup, leading Northeastern with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Suarez and Brayden Stufft each collected two hits for Northeastern. Northeastern turned two double plays in the game. Northeastern were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Nate Glad made the most plays with six.
