Northeastern Baseball Drops Second Championship Game to Southeast Community College 3-1. They Will Head To Beatrice, NE to Face Off Against Defending National Champions Salt Lake Community College at 2:00 MDT on Thursday

Sunday's game against Southeast was a heartbreaker for Northeastern, as they lost the lead late in a 3-1 defeat. The game was tied at one in the top of the eighth when Gabe Dalton singled, scoring two runs.

The pitching was strong on both sides. The Bobcats pitchers struck out five, while Northeastern sat down 10.

The Bobcats got on the board in the first inning after Jake Smolinski drew a walk, scoring one run.

Zach McVay grounded out, which helped Northeastern tie the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.

DDC Player of the Game, Callum Baron stepped on the mound first for Northeastern. The pitcher allowed five hits and one run over five and one-third innings, striking out four and walking eight. Braden Ailslieger stepped on the mound first for Southeast. The righty allowed two hits and one run over three and one-third innings, striking out one and walking two.

McVay went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Eastin Hubbard went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Northeastern in hits. Northeastern turned one double play in the game.
