Northeastern Softball Loses a Nail Biter To Colby Community College 5-4

Northeastern Softball lost on a heart breaking walk off to Colby Community College 5-4 on Sunday. Mikeayla Llamas was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Llamas went 2-4 at the plate, driving in one run and scoring one run. 

It was a back forth affair the whole game. Northeastern opened up the scoring in the top of the third inning scoring two runs. Colby scored one run each in the next three innings. Heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Plainswomen had the lead 4-3, until the Trojans were able to score two runs to ultimately win the game. Reagan Fehringer started in the circle for the Plainswomen and ended up taking the loss. Fehringer went all seven innings, giving up 5 runs (two earned) on 8 hits, walking three and striking out one. 

Blayke Duncan, Llamas, Tatiana Hunt and Fehringer all scored one run in the contest. Llamas led the way with two hits for the Plainswomen. Duncan, Llamas, Hunt, and Addison Steele all drove in one run for Northeastern.
