Northeastern Softball's Bats Were On Fire As They Took Down Luna Community College 10-5 on Thursday

Northeastern Softball took a 10-5 victory over Luna Community College in the third game of the four game road series on Thursday. Mackenzie Bowie was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Bowie went 2-3 at the plate, hitting two home runs, drawing one walk, scoring two runs and driving in three runs. Bowie also started the game for Northeastern and earned the win. Bowie threw 7 innings, giving up 5 runs (one earned) on 11 hits.

Northeastern got on the board first in the top of the first inning after Mikeayla Llamas doubled to center, Luna committed an error and Luna committed a second error, each scoring one run. The Plainswomen added to their early lead after Bowie homered to left field and Tatiana Hunt doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Northeastern scored two more runs in the top of the seventh after Bowie homered to center field, scoring two runs. 

Reina Roberts, Hunt, Blayke Duncan and Bowie each collected two hits in the contest.
