Northeastern Softball Falls To Trinidad State College In The First Game of a Four Game Home Series
Northeastern Softball saw it's playoff hope fall out of reach, as they fell to Trinidad State College 12-3 on Saturday. Tatiana Hunt was named the DDC Player of the Game. Hunt went 2-2 at the plate, drawing one walk, hitting one home run, scored two runs and drove in two runs in the contest.
The Trojans were the first to get on the board in the top of the first, thanks to a two run home run. Northeastern scored one run in the bottom of the first on a solo home run to left field by Hunt. Reagan Fehringer started in the circle for the Plainswomen and ended up taking the loss. Fehringer went 5 innings, giving up 10 runs (6 earned) on 9 hits, walking two batters and striking out three batters. Mackenzie Bowie threw one inning of relief, giving up two earned runs on two hits and walked one batter.
Hunt drove the middle of the lineup, leading Northeastern with two runs batted in. Hunt, Blayke Duncan and Addison Steele each collected two hits in the contest.
