Northeastern Softball Slows Down The Bats of #25 McCook Community College, Takes Game 2 in a Thriller 3-2

Both teams were strong in the circle on Friday, but Northeaster defeated McCook 3-2. DDC Player of the Game Brooklyn McNeil started the game for the Plainswomen and recorded 21 outs.

Northeastern got on the board in the first inning after America Griffin singled, scoring two runs.

McNeil started the game for Northeastern. The right-handed pitcher allowed 10 hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking none. Hannah Schneider started in the circle for McCook. The left-handed pitcher allowed six hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out one and walking none.

Griffin provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Northeastern with two runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Marisa Reyes went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Plainswomen in hits.

The Plainswomen head to McCook for another two game series against the Indians on Sunday.
