Northeastern Softball Goes 1-3 Against #25 McCook, Falling in Game 4 16-1

McCook scored 11 runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat Northeastern 16-1 on Sunday at McCook.

The Indians were the first to get on the board in the first when Lyndsay Keogh hit a solo home run to center field.

McCook added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when Josie Wright singled, scoring two runs, Keogh singled, scoring one run, and Brooklynn Gillen lined out, scoring one run.


Brook McNeil led things off in the circle for Northeastern. The hurler surrendered 19 hits and 16 runs (15 earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking one.

DDC Player of the Game Cambria Ruecker, Tati Hunt, and Addison Steele each collected one hit for Northeastern. Ruecker went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.

The Plainswomen welcome in Fort Hays Tech Northwest on Tuesday for a double-header starting at 12:00 PM.
