Northeastern Softball Wins Three in a Row Over Otero College, Taking The Rattlers Down in Game Three 9-4

Northeastern was triumphant over Otero 9-4 on Saturday at Sterling.

The Plainswomen got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Marisa Reyes singled to the right side of the infield, Otero Rattlers committed an error, Otero Rattlers committed an error, Tati Hunt grounded out, and Addison Steele singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Northeastern added one run in the second after DDC Player of the Game, Kelsi Jurczewsky grounded out.

Mikey Llamas hit a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the sixth for the Northeastern.

Reyes started in the circle for Northeastern. The pitcher surrendered seven hits and four runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking five. Eleanor Morris stepped in the circle first for Otero. The starting pitcher gave up nine hits and nine runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out one and walking none.

Reyes and Jurczewsky each collected two hits for NJC. Madison Birt and Jurczewsky each drove in two runs for NJC. NJC ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game. NJC turned one double play in the game.
