Northeastern Softball Gets a Win in Game 4 Over Southeast Community College 4-1

Northeastern was victorious against Southeast 4-1 on Sunday.

Southeast got on the board in the first inning after Reyse Zobel was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

Northeastern took the lead, 3-1, in the top of the fourth thanks to singles by Ryann Mergelman, and Brodie Wilcoxen.

DDC Player of the Game, Brooklyn McNeil earned the win for Northeastern. The pitcher allowed two hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking none. Seinna McEntire opened the game for Southeast. The hurler allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out two and walking one.

Mergelman led Northeastern with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Wilcoxen and Kelsi Jurczewsky each collected two hits for the Plainswomen. Jurczewsky stole two bases. NJC ran wild on the base paths, amassing three stolen bases for the game.
