The Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen showcased their dominant volleyball skills in a commanding pre-season victory against Barton Community College Cougars on September 13, 2025. Held at the home court of Northeastern Junior College, the Plainswomen swept the match with a final scoreline of 3-0, enhancing their current season record to 12-3.
The match began strongly for the Plainswomen, who took the first set with a comfortable margin of 25-17. This set the tone for the remainder of the match. The second set followed a similar narrative with the Plainswomen securing a 25-15 victory, demonstrating both strategic prowess and athletic skill. The intensity peaked during the third set, where Barton Community College put up a hard fight, pushing the Plainswomen to a narrow 25-23 win, concluding the match with a robust finish for the hosts.
Notable performances were seen across the board from the Plainswomen. Kaitlyn Barnes, Natalie Moore, and Samantha Mosley, along with Kiera Heaven, were instrumental with their kills accounting for much of the team's offensive success. Moore, in particular, shone exceptionally, earning her the DDC Player of the Match accolade with her remarkable contribution of 5 blocks and critical slide attacks that played a key part in critical momentum shifts. Stella Carrer impeccably orchestrated the plays, achieving a high of 38 assists throughout the match, while Evie Gavette secured the defense with 19 digs.
